Designed to be the front cover of my interactive documentary

Looping Video

This video will play after the introduction video and sequentially after the video the user decides to watch to allow them to explore the various other options available. As well as allowing the documentary to be interactive and give the user full control

Equipment and Software used within the process

An iPhone camera and DSLR/Tripod

All of which were used to film the footage for the various locations as well as all of my piece-to-camera's

Imovie

Imovie was used:

To combine my multiple individual piece-to-camera videos into the 9 voice overs.
To combine both the piece-to-cameras and my raw footage together
To add background music and music to the start of the videos.
To add the graphics at the beginning of the videos

Verse

Verse was used:

To place all my videos in the correct order and format
To allow my documentary to have the interactive element

Canva was also used to create graphics

Tutorial Video

Tutorial Explanation

When clicking view story, an introduction video will play
This video will explain what my interactive documentary is about and how you navigate around the video
A the end of the introductory video, a looping video will play, presenting the 9 different locations i visited and thus the choice of what to watch
At the end of the selected video, the looping video will appear again, allowing the user to decide what to watch next

Step by Step of the creation

Firstly I had to decide on my 9 locations, I wanted places that I could access as well as have a variety of different places.

I then went and visited these various places to capture footage of the 9 sites, capturing video and photos on both a camera and iphone

I wrote my scrips for each of my locations, finding information from various websites. I kept the same layout for all locations, firstly stating what the site is at the minute and then delving into the haunting tales

I created my graphics on canva and sourced the music i felt worked best for my documentary

I then edited both my raw footage and piece-to-cameras together

Once all the scrips were written i then recorded all my piece-to-cameras and then joined all my separate videos together to produce the 9 individual scripts.

I then edited these together with my combined footage and piece-to-cameras.

Lastly i used verse to construct my interactive documentary
